Gratitude List

Recently I’ve been having trouble sleeping. My mind is running through all the worries in my life and focused on all the wrong. I talked to my mother about this and she made an excellent suggestion that I’d like to share with all of you:

If you ever feel stressed or worried, to the point where it’s keeping you up at night, sit down and write out a list of 10 things you a grateful for. Everyone knows that worrying about what cannot be changed or there is nothing to be done about at 3 o’clock in the morning, is useless and stressful. Writing down a list of positive things to think about puts your focus on the good versus the wrong. Then your mind can relax and you can sleep soundly.

Negative thoughts are very stressful on the mind, where as positive thoughts puts our mind at ease.

So today, and everyday, write down 10 things your are grateful for and keep that list in your pocket or at your bedside. They can be the same 10 things, it doesn’t matter. So long as you let those positive reminders illuminate ad shine over the shadow of your worries.
